20TH NEW ZEALAND JAMBOREE 2013/2014
Welcome to the Australian Contingent to the 20th New Zealand Scout Jamboree. This is your opportunity to join this exciting trip to one of the most picturesque countries in the world and it is just next door, or “across the ditch” as some would say. Just like Australian Scout Jamborees, New Zealand Jamborees are “JAM” packed with fun and excitement and have an extensive activity program with many variations of activities not seen at Australian Jamborees.
Contingent Arrangements - The Contingent will depart Australia on 26 December 2013 and arrive in the New Zealand Capital of Wellington where we will stay for two nights. On 28 December 2013 we will depart Wellington and arrive at the town of Feilding (yes this is the correct spelling – perhaps you could investigate why?). The Jamboree commences with the opening ceremony on Saturday 28 December 2013 and finishes on Sunday 5 January 2014. Those not attending the post jamboree tour will fly home on Monday 6 January 2014.
Australian Scouts will be formed into Patrols with Scouts from all over Australia and then hosted by a New Zealand Jamboree Troop.
How much will it cost? - The Australian Contingent Fee for attending the Jamboree including return flights, New Zealand transfers and meals is $2516 per person.
International Flights will depart from Sydney and Melbourne. Those travelling from Darwin will fly to Wellington via Sydney and those travelling from Hobart will fly to Wellington via Melbourne. Some participants may be required to fly on Christmas Day.

Post Jamboree Tour - On 6 January 2014 you have the option of joining the 9 day Post Jamboree Tour of New Zealand’s South Island. The cost of the Tour is $1830, is limited to 100 participants, is for Scouting Members only and they must have attended the Jamboree. Those participating in the tour will return home from Christchurch on 14 January 2014. See the separate brochure showing the details of the tour.
For those wishing to stay in New Zealand after the Jamboree and/or the tour, for family/friend reasons, please notify your intention of this at the time of applying. The return flight will remain included for the participant but additional costs may be payable for different dates as airfares may vary in price.
